Discipline

Our goal at A World Of Children is to help your child become an independent, self assured, and socially adjusted individual. In order to achieve this goal, we must set basic guidelines, rules, and regulations. Our teachers will lead the way while teaching the children about the world around them. They will learn to play together, share with each other, and to communicate with each other. At the same time they will be learning what is and is not acceptable behavior in the classroom.

Listed below are the courses of action that will be taken in disciplining a child.

• The child will be taken away from the playgroup by the teacher to avoid verbal embarrassment or humiliation. The teacher will then stress that this course of action is unacceptable and then direct the child toward a more positive situation.
  
• If the child chooses to take the same course of action again, they will be sent to the "time out". "Time Out" consists of a chair away from the playgroup.
  
• If the child continues to misbehave, a conference with the parent may be necessary. AT no time will a child ever experience any kind of physical discipline; however, we are required by law to report any suspected abuse or neglect.

We have found "time out" to be a very successful form of discipline, coupled with positive reinforcement. We continually praise the children for their appropriate behavior, encouraging them to act in a positive rather than a negative manner.
 
Administration

Director

The director oversees the entire school and is also in charge of implementing the school program. All concerns, complaints, suggestions, and of course compliments should be discussed with the school director.

Assistant Director

If the director of the school is unavailable, the assistant director will be available to anyone needing assistance.

Teacher

All of the teachers at A World Of Children are certified. They are responsible for putting together and carrying out lesson plans, supervising and reprimanding the children, and guiding and directing the children while abiding by and adhering to the regulations of the school.

Aides

All of the aids at A World Of Children have either had prior experience working in an established facility or are currently working toward becoming certified. The aides assist the teachers in any and every way they can. Our aides will also be used as substitute teachers when necessary.
